Looking for a quick snack with high nutritional value for your kids? Try this simple recipe with apples, avocadoes and...a few therapeutic surprises:-).
1/2 tsp spirulina
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbs sweetener of your choice
(honey, maple syrup, xylitol etc)
Feel free to improvise on toppings, depending on what your kids like and what you have available in the kitchen
Put all ingredients into high powered blender and blend on high for 40 seconds-1 minute. It's very important that it is well-mixed so add a few tablespoons of water or therapeutic steeped tea if you have a hard time blending. If your kids really don't like the taste of spirulina, add a smaller amount. Even the smallest amount for kids is a huge benefit.
For the topping...I recommend putting a few bowls of different topping options on the table and letting your kids build their own superfood apple sauce...they will love decorating it themselves and it gets them involved in the whole preparation process. It also makes them more willing to eat and experiment with new foods. Good luck Supermoms!:-).
